700 Performance Mods

Some people have drastically increased their V700 performance by adding dual exhaust, a primary spring, doing airbox mods (and rejetting). If you can do these corretly, your V700 should easily handle any other ATV except the ones with the most exotic mods. I don't have a V700, I just read about what others have done so please don't ask me any questions about this. If you want to add something that you feel would be of benefit to others, email me or PM me on the connection. Here is a list so far of things people have done (that I know about).

  • Add a second snorkle to the airbox. This can add a lot of acceleration and top speed. You may need much larger jets, so order them beforehand. Check out the Airbox mod by KevinM. This is better than Uni-Vents since it draws cold air into the engine.
  • K&N Filter
  • Performance springs for the CVT, maybe even a performace Kit with springs and weights. Less aggressive riders benefit from the EPI pink spring. People that race need something with a higher engagement RPM. Talk to forum members for their recommendations.
  • HMF,Alien, Yoshimura, MBRP, Pro Circuit all make dual exhaust. You need to get one of them.
  • Diamond G may be creating a CDI or an unlimiter module for the V700. It will unlock even more power.
  • Plug carb heater hoses. This will help in hot climates.
  • Aftermarket handlebars and grips, i.e. Renthal or Traitech.
  • Elka shocks
  • Aftermarket Tie Rods (Mike Penland)
  • KevinM uses Alien Dual exhausts, HPD plain spring, and 12 univents in airbox. He also has rejetted. KevinM says not to get the Alien Duals without a better primary spring. See photo of race results.

The 3 quads were equipped as follows:

    Brother's 2000 Banshee:
FMF Fatty's and jetting, K&N, White Bros. boost bottle and Prodesign Coolhead. 260lb. rider.

    Buddy's 2003 Raptor:
White Bros. E Series pipe and jetting, UNI air filter. 210lb rider

    My V
Alien Duals and jetting, Polaris purple primary spring, 12 univents in airbox. 250lb rider.

In an approx. 250 yard race, the V-force beat the Banshee by a solid 1-3 quadlengths every time in 5 races. Beat the Raptor by 5-6 quadlengths in 3 races, then he gave up and just watched. Only counting races with good starts and no missed shifts.

Samcoeds' 700 has been spanking everything lately. This is what he said:

1- delete the hot antifreeze from the bottom of the carb(it gets the carb too hot for racing)

2- my air box mods are perfect with my jetting 13.1 air fuel ratio all the way through the power on the dyno you can pm me and i will send you pictures of my airbox mods the mods are very very inportant that they are this way only due to turbalance on the carbs.

    3-160 front 165 rear jets

    4- dmc duels

5-lighting the clutch with stock springs front and rear with 2 stock weights and 2 56g weights

    6-stock air filter

    7-honda rear hubs

8- 8" honda rear wheels with 22x8x10 paddle ultra lights rear and same in front

I have tried many combos on the spring and weights and this setup seems to work the best with a stock motor with the brakes locked it will stall 3400 and i am getting full lockup at 6650-6700 and it runs great i will be doing port work and cam changes next with some nitrous and i will post the results thanks for everyones interest.
