Facebook account of me but I didn't open it. What can I do?

I am getting a divorce and just found out my ex opened a facebook account with my name. It is set to private so I can't read it. I can see my coworkers in there as friends and they printed out the stuff that was written. She has been pretending to be me for about a month.

How can I get her in trouble for this?
Any ideas?

You could probably open your own account and then report her ( I think you need an account to contact them thru your account management.)

Sounds like a possible case of identity fraud to me! If your ex is willing to open a FB account in your name, I wonder what else she put in your name? Credit cards, etc.? You might want to keep digging.

Regarding the FB account, maybe you can ask your co-workers who are already friends with your FB account to report that account as fake on FB. If enuf co-workers report that account as fake, I assume that FB will take it down. Just a guess tho. Good luck with that.

Its fraud and possible contempt of court .........and also against FB policy...........let your attorney know.............thats his job

Thought you might find it interesting to know that Texas has a new law that makes it a felony to use another person's name/persona on a social networking site. You might want to check your own state's laws to see if they have a similar statute.

Under the new section of Texas Penal Code 33.07, it is a crime to . . .
"use the name or persona of another to create a web page on or to post one or more messages on a commercial social networking site: (1) without obtaining the other person's consent; and (2) with the intent to harm, defraud, intimidate, or threaten any person.

Happened to me, Facebook support was useless. I know who did it, POS that occasionally comes on here. Haven't had time to persure it any further yet.
