Basicly my question is in the the title, but to give you guys an idea my sister picked up a kfx50 for my 6 year old nephew last week and we decided to teach him how to ride on the sand dunes near our cabin. Got it up there and it ran pretty good but it lacked the power to make it up the hills and some of the softer sand. Is there anyhting I can do to make the thing more powerful with out killing my pephew? I moved the throttle scew as far out as it can go. So he' s already running at full stock power.

remove the restrictors fro t ehintake and exhaust.
in the exhaust it's a flat plate with a small hole drilled in it.
on the intake it's in the elbow between the head and carb.
it's a plug with a slotted hole in there.
remove the intake plug and give it a small port.
this requires no jetting changes.
CT makes an exhaust but they are now very scarce. you need a 155 main jet for that exhaust. if I can remember right
My kids isn't the fastest but I can still get it to ehwwlie and climb small hills with me on it and i'm 250 pounds.

What year? 07 or newer, theres a wedding type band behind the kick start that limits the travel of the CVT belt. Remove this and you will be in business.
