Arrow Teryx 4 clutch modification

Got it all done and setup for the T4. soon as it gets done from testing I'll be offering this service to my kawasaki clutch modification lineup.

So far I have Primary clutch modification and primary spring change(no stall setup or high stall setups)

looks something like this.

T4 primary modification involves faceplate modification, spider modification, and sheave modifications and clearancing. There is no KEBC braking system on there. so nothing has to be done.

No special pullers are involved for removing this as well. remove the 22mm nut (reverse thread) and off it comes. it's splined shaft. so no overtorqing on the shaft and causing issues like on the tapered clutch setups of the past.

also, NO deflection setting. the secondary is a constant pinch setup.

I'll be working on adjustable weights as well as higher rate secondary springs in the next coming months.

Great to hear John!
So are the performance improvements going to be similar to what happens for a Brute/Prairie/VForce? ...like higher top speed capability, and possible better gas mileage during regular driving?

Thats cool that you don't loose engine braking, need a puller, or needs deflection set (makes it simple & easy!)

Im really beginning to look forward to seeing the performance of these T4's with a few simple bolt-on mods!

Yes, but with the new secondary on the T4 when I mod the primary it lets the belt sit a hair lower in the primary and higher in the secondary decreacing the gearing off the start. something we could never do with the earlier secondaries. there'll be no belt squeal as the wet clutch keeps the clutches stopped at idle and the belt has no deflection as the secondary pinches it VERY tight all the time

the overdrive, it already has more than the T2. it actually has very similar travel to my stage 3 teryx modded t2 clutch. I can take it to the next level and max out the belt travel. you cannot bolt on a overdrive faceplate to these models. the faceplate and spider are stock very similar to what I do on the stage 3 teryx mod for the T2. They are FAR different vs a t2 clutch and they way they are setup.

what I'm not happy with is where is our goddamn adjustable helix. guys with bigger tires can benefit from a slower ramp on the helix angle. still we cannot adjust this, so we work around it with spring rates in the secondary (I don't have one this stiff here) we may be into snowmobile rates on these secondaries.

the weights. I see good things here as well as future upgrades to run wider and longer belts. which I can get into later. adjustable weights that I have in mind will be able to adjust MANY things. rev's, backshift, stall, engagment, belt-sheave clearances.

Springs for the Primary. I have them made already. hard to believe but the stock spring is STIFFER than my #2 primary. I have low-mid-high stall springs already available. #3-#4-#7 these use what we would have concidered "race springs"

I'm very happy with the clutching upgrades they have done and I look forward to seeing these motors and clutch setups on the atv models in the future. It'll be way worth it to have these in the atv's.

there's a 2012 Brute 750 Stage 3 clutch VS a 2012 Stage 3 T4 clutch

you can see they are larger but still way more compact than a T2 clutch.

There's a stock 2012 teryx T4 clutch vs a 2012 stock teryx t2 clutch

You can see there is still lots of room for gained belt travel in both of them.

If this comes to the Atv they will defiantly benefit. Especially larger tire atv's.

Hey John. One of these days I hope to meet you while riding up in coal country :-) As a T4 owner I am curious to hear what improvements were felt after you got done with the clutch work? Was it a noticable improvement? and where? Thanks!

clutch work is after you unlock the ECU. with the ECU unlocked it'll have gearing for 63 mph at 9000 rpm it'll run about 57 mph

with the clutch work it'll have more top end speed to carry it over 70 mph, but as far as what it'll actually do real world has yet to be seen. I think these may hit 70 mph stock internals with pipe, clutch and ECU. were still waiting some parts.

I'll have all the info for you with dyno print outs with in the next few weeks.
