I msg VFJ, but I know he's OOO
I went ahead and installed the Maroon ...and I THIIIIINK the RPM rev a little higher ...but I'm not sure. If it does, then its just a touch higher.
Either way I'm still looking to rev higher. Maybe 500-700 higher?
...I need to get a Tach on this thing!
speaking of Tach's ... which is a good Tach-only gauge? I don't want a speedO at all. The Auto Meter Pro Cycle Guages are pimp daddy, but $250+

From VFJ:
"That's my #1 spring. Very similar to epi maroon. My spring is an actual 10/170. Epi is rated at 10/170 also but actually measures out at 8/164. So it will have a hair less rpm than the red one. I'd doubt you'd notice any difference."
Oh greaaaaaaaaaat

Hellz yeah!
I had this thing laying around collecting dust. I think it was only 20-25 bucks too (one of them cheapO Auto Zone tachs). Too bad it only goes to 8k, (it goes past 8k; just isnt numbered), but it'll do the trick for now.
That helps ALOT! ...without it I'm changing springs blind (its like trying to tune A/F ratios without a meter. <Worthless).
The clutch set-up currently holds around 7500RPM when @ WOT. I've got the old-style Fundy Race cams ...you guys think thats a good RPM for these cams? ...or do they like it a little higher?

If you are worried about damaging the tach, put in a switch to cut it off when you are planning WOT.

why would I need that (because it may push the needle too far)?
It's a cheapie ...i'm not too worried about damaging it.

I have stiffer spring than that . 2-3-4-7 are all stiffer. The #2 220lb spring will take you to about 7800-7900 shiftout. The Fundy 775 can will run just fine at that rpm. #3 250lb maybe a little too stiff unless you have ported heads.
