1994 kawasaki 220 bayou pilot screw setting

i need the starting turns for a 1994 kawasaki 220 bayou pilot screw. i took carb apart to clearn, did the "turn in" on pilot screw, was 1-1/2 turns. the manual for my 1985 kaw 185 bayou says 1 turn for it. carbs are similar but not same. i want to make sure. can anyone help? thanks! ps... it can be close in years mfg'd

The book says 1.5 turns except California models, 2.5 turns...Hope this helps..
What size was your main-jet? Mine has a 117.5 Dealer says it should be 122.5 for sea-level..I bought a 2002 Bayou "set up for high altitude" and it has a 110 main-jet in it. Trying to sort it out...

hey thanks, but my hanes book, which i got from the library says 1.2 turns for 88-99 220's. 2000 and later and all 250's is 1.3, so im waiting for the clymer manual to come in to double check. my main is a 115, book says 115 for all 88 thru 99, 2000 on california. then it says 117.5 for 2000 on except california. makes no mention of high altitude. so it looks conflicting...

Open the pilot screw until the engine begins to idle rougher. Now close it until it does the same. Set the screw between these two positions.
