Default '04 Bayou 250 Idle Problem

My 250 doesn't seem to want to idle corrertly. I've adjusted the mixture screw every which way. When I apply the choke it will idle for a short time then rev way up and when I get off the choke it dies...Any thoughts would be great.

You prolly need to pull the carb and clean all the jets. The pilot jet is most likely the culprit here but if it's corroded the other are too. It's not a hard task to do either.

On the lookout for a Brute at a good price. Minor work needed is ok if the price is right!

I completely striped the carb and soaked it cleaner over night. It is still doing the samething. Would a jet kit help or would it be a waste of money?

Well on mine and I'm sure yours would be the same. You'll need to pull the jets out and clean them. The pilot and main jet have some extra holes that need cleaning and can easily clog up. I did the same as you with the same result, which is why I tore it completely down. Runs great now. I just used a new jet kit instead of trying to clean mine. Kit was like $20 and comes with all you need.
