Drag racing my Kawie vs a couple Can Ams

My buddy and I decided to race our machines yesterday. He has five Can Ams of all different sizes so we thought it would be fun to see where my Kawie fits in for power. We picked his 650 and his 800.
Elevation was about 8700 feet. Details are in the descriptions, but you have to actually watch it in YT to see them. Enjoy!

Garage
Looks good!
There's a local stock Outlander 650 that easily runs with stock pre-2012 BF750's in drag races.

Its kind of hard to do direct comparisons of individual machines because of the many possible variations, but the spec sheets say the 650 rotax gets about 62 hp. The older 800 got roughly 70 hp, but was rumored to have more aggressive clutching. The kawie 750 was (is) rated at 50. I've never found what the kawie 700 was rated at officially, but I've heard 46-48.
The weights of all of them vary from 605 (630 wet) for the Prairie, to over 750 for the 650 Max xt. The Brute 750 is right in the middle at ~690.

Wonder how she would do if...all that stuff wasn't on your machine..like the flat-pac and trunk full of stuff I'm sure....probably would have ZERO issue with the 800. Still fun to see an old-school Kawie doing it's thing.

Yeah, I think if he'd had the same gear on as I did, I would actually have beaten him by a quad length or more. There wasn't much in his rack bag, and he had stock wheels and bighorn 2.0 knockoffs. I had all the food and water to survive 3 days in the desert, wheels that weigh twice as much as the flimsy stockers, and the vipr tires are probably 5 to 10 pounds heavier on all four corners. Then there was an easy 100 pound difference in gear cargo....

Oh well....it's just nice to know there are only two or three stock utility quads out there that will outrun me. And all of them cost almost double what my machine cost, and none of them are as reliable or cheap to keep on the trails.
