Hi US Bruties

So I have the following questions which I cant find the answer too.

My 4wd and 2wd indicator sign flashes on the display somtimes, ie goes from 2wd to 4wd and so on. If I turn the ignition off and restart the Brute then it seems to reset. Has any one had the same problem !!

I removed one of the shims from the driven pully " 1mm" and left the 0,6 in. The belt know makes a noise at tick over, is this ok !. Also the grey plug connector is missing to do the belt light reset, did or does your brutes have this plug!!! " 4 pin"

Aslo my dealer has said I should bring the brute in because of a possible free play issuse on the front shocks Top Bolt, is the new to you or have some of u had this problem.

Thanks for your answers / Tips

Tom " Quadmanic"

If it is squealing while ideling in gear then the belt is too tight. If the squealing is very slight just put it neutral while stopped, the belt will wear enough for the squealing to stop before long.

My 4x4/4x2 light used to flash like that, I told the dealer a few times and they said they couldn't get it to do it when in there. I would come home and it would do it in no time. I would turn off the key for a few seconds and it would be good for a bit, but then do it again after I rode for awhile.

It doesn't seem to hurt anything, mine did it for about 4 or 5 months. I would just spin the back end to see what I was in, 2 or 4 wheel drive.

They finally replaced my actuator on the belt housing and it cured it. I believe there is moisture getting in there where it is under water a fair amount. Some people have taken them off and cleaned them with good success but you have to be careful that you put it back together correctly I heard.

Canadians can help too, just ask the dutch, they LOVE us.

ps. I forgot to mention, there is a recall on the top shock mount/bolt, it can come out and cause you to hurt and possibly even kill yourself. Keep an eye on it, big time.

the 2/4 wd drive light is flashing flashing a bad KEBS actuator code. My P-700 did the same thing.
Is that belt noise a "ticking" sound, at idle???????????? Mine doe it too.
I think your dealer was speaking of the control arm bolt recalls. There is one for the LOWER rear control arm bolts, too.

Thanks for the infos.

Oh and I changed the thiner spacer for the 1mm spacer and the tick over noise has gone. I had the problem that the brute would not go out of gear as the belt was to tight and after a long ride the heat cause the belt to get tighter.

How many miles do you guys get out of a standared kawa belt ?

Thanks for the infos

Tom

This post might be helpful to you and other Brute owners. It about corrosion on the Brutes in some kind bus connector, an easy fix but something to watch out for.

when the 4wd/2wd light flashes it probably needs to be reset. Un plug the black and gray plug and switch. Turn on the ignition. Turn off and switch back. The flashing light should go out.
