UPDATE:

I installed the cryo treated spark plugs in my truck and ran a tankful of gas thru it. I checked the gas mileage on this first tank and found zero difference in my gas mileage. I'll keep you informed if my gas mileage changes on the next tank, but so far I'm unimpressed.

I will say this, these cryo treated spark plugs make the transmission shift different! It seems to hold the current gear longer if I accelerate fast. In other words, it does not downshift/go to passing gear as often as it used to. Before, it seemed to downshift way to often even when I didn't intend to accelerate that fast. Now it drives smoother/stays in the right gear longer. I'm happy about that, but wish I also got better gas mileage as claimed on their website.

Happy trails...

I never heard of cryo treated plugs??

I couldn't imagine it doing anything different other than the results you get from installing a set of new plugs.

I'm sure they can say that they align the molecules in the sparkplug to create a faster spark path or something like that.

Red face

John,

The place that I recently used to cryo treat my ATV cams, headbolts, etc. claims upto 15% more HP and upto 20% better fuel economy if you cryo treat the spark plugs. I don't really understand their theory as to why cryo treated plugs are more efficient...they don't give much detail on their website. http://www.lecryo.com/purepower.html With a claim like that, I didn't believe it, but they have a $50 minimum order on cryo treatments...so I had nothing to lose except the cost of buying a new set of spark plugs to send in with the rest of my order (I was almost due for a new set of plugs anyway...lol).

One of the testimonials on that website claims he got 13% better gas mileage on his Landrover (or something like that) and he also noticed it shifts different (doesn't go into passing gear as often). I too noticed the transmission effect, but so far did not see any change in my gas mileage.

Happy trails...
