I have just ordered an auto meter 8,000 RPM White 2-5/8" Pro-Cycle Street Tachometer, how do you hook this up on the machine, it has a 1 and 2 pulse reading, is it easy to hook up or am i going to have to do some cutting and splicing to make it work. i figure i should in stall a tach so i can make clutch adjustments, for the best performance, and i figure i could tune better with tach.

i think you can wrap one of the wires around the plug or something like that. but that tach dont go high enough. these motors red line at 9200rpm with a dyna cdi

stock cdi, with moose module and 6deg advance key. i heard 8K is all i would need. 9200 rpms is just over rev, 6800 rpms is peak performance on stock internal engines i thought and they rev to 7800 in stock form.

i could be wrong.

am i going to need to return this when i get it and get a 10K tach.

I called up for my order and changed it before i got the wrong tach. i thought all i would need is an 8k tach I now got a 10K tach here it is.

Features:
Large 5" dial face
0 to 10,000 RPM range
Vibration proof air core meter design
Internal settings for 2, 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines
Pointer return-to-zero feature
Adjustable swivel mounting foot for mounting at any angle
Benefits:

Incandescent back lighting avoids uneven, hot spots for better night visibility
Highly visible bright red pointer for quick view
Modern DIS ignition applications are covered by the 2 cylinder setting
Shift light can be repositioned around tachometer body for best viewing angle

the sunpro super tach 3. now here the thing, I the tech said its not water proof, and i would have to seal it with silcon and still thats not a 100% water proofing. so i guess ill have to try to keep it from getting wet.

I wanted a 5" so its easy to see and read and it will look cool i think with a monster tach sitting up in front of my handle bars. and it was 100.00 bucks from jegs.
