looking to builda new frame out of a stronger lighter DOM tubing, or something better.
with all the facotyr specs. and added gussets to make the frame stronger and better.

I'm thinking a bent my frame this past weekend. but dont know how.
my toe settings are in spec. but I can turn hard left and everything clears just fine, but hard right and my tire hits the floor board. theres 3/8" off but i cant seem to find how or where.

for me it dont really matter if the machine is lighter or not. but has to be stronger.
i know the fatory upper strut mounts are weak. and bend if you dont have a rack of strut brace.

so i would want a thicker stronger metal used also beef up the a-arm mounting points.

has anyone had a custom frame build or knows were to have one made.

my goal is to make my prairie last longer and hold up like a tank.
since its used for snow plowing, trail riding, mudding, sled pulling, and of course jumping, wheelies, and plain old, HOLD MY BEER IM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING kind of riding. lol
the factory frame held up pretty good i think. i never broke the cross tube under the seat like others have done. but I have rolled it once last winter. but the frame was not bent. every thing else was.
I dont know if its from when i was cruising down this one trail following my buddy on his TRX450R. and jumped off a hill. but my machine landed hard on the right front wheel. i dont know if i bent the a-arm or the frame for sure. but something is out of spec. it ride strait and handle normal. but like i said my right front tire now hits the floor board at full hard lock.

It would prolly be easier to get an old frame and add supports and bracing where you want if your planning to swap everything anyway.

we have a local body shop guy that has bent back a few prairie frames for us... and a brute frame(my dads )... and he's good too.... it took some time getting the specs from kawie on the frames but he can put it back like new and even welds up stronger gussets on them while he's at it...
if you decide to go that route, talk to a few racers that have raced the prairies in the past and ask them where to weld the gussets at or where the weak points are at.........

thanks guys,

I wounder if mike pennland would tell me the strong and weak points of the prairie frame.
I know he used to race them.

anyone know some old prairie GNCC racers.

I can get a new frame from ronayers, has no vin or title, have to stamp old vin into new frame then cut off and send back the old frame vin to kawie, so they can file off as the frame has been replaced.

Ill order the new frame soon, and work on getting gusseting info, and beef it up before i swap everything over.

Get with member XCHAMP on here, I'm sure he will steer you in the right direction.

VFJ has a low hour Prarie frame also w/ wiring. Surely it will be cheaper than going through Kawisaki

I'll still go with a new kawie frame, so i dont need a new title.

know plans to get ahold of Xchamp.
I know VFJ has talked about the one rear cross member tube behind the battery breaking, so I would weld that up and gusset that area. IM sure the weak poiints are in the front of the machine. wear kawie didnt fully weld up the factory gussets ans water and dirt can gut up in there rust and weaken the frame over time.

will be checking into this deeper, need to make my Prairie last a life time. lol
