when the temp light comes on will cause the EFI to go into limp mode. and yes then the EFI light comes on. if no temp light and the EFI light comes on then its mostly a sensor problem. some times a loose contection. some dirt on a sensor. can cause these little problems. like anything hightech there comes little things to deal with.
alot has to do with engine temps. im not 100% on this yet but im also thinking when changing clutch springs. i wounder if that could mess things up also. for rpms vs speed. the machine could think belt slipping. and put the EFI into a limp mode also.
im thinking if this is true or not. as yet to know. a switch box. like i use on my GSXR for sprocket changes. you would install this little unit in the middle of the speedo sensor and the ecm. to reprogram the speedo. so the ecm gets the right readings of speeds from changing to larger or smaller tires. we would have to look into that as a problem or not. EFI is very tricky to work with. as its very picky on what it does.

Well guys, I found the problem and fixed it. I did a continuity test on EVERY connection dealing with the FI system and found a pin that had been pushed out of the connector when I greased it. Thanks for everbody help in the diagnosis. Lesson learned here: when it comes to dielectric grease: a lil dab will do, not too much or it will push pins out.
