Default 750 4x4i electrical malfunction

This is a weird one fellas. Bike starts and runs fine with manual start but has no operation of the electronics. No cooling fan operation, no 4x4 activation, no electric start, no display. From time to time the display intermittently comes on at idle but when you rev the engine up the display shuts off. Oddly enough as soon as you attempt to turn the lights on the engine shuts off.
My first thought is a control unit problem. Ive inspected the connectors, all are seated properly, no corrosion and no bent pins. Fuses are all OK. Ive tapped on the ecu and the connectors and the display unit while it was working and this did not seam to effect anything.
Anybody else run into a similar problem???

What year is it? Assuming 08-09 since you mentioned the ECU.

A significant portion of that stuff is controlled by the actuator controller, not the ECU....

Not sure on the year, this is a buddys bike and he is out of town. He has had it a couple years tho. Maybe this is an actuator controler I am refering to as a ecu. There is one with a mitsubichi symbol on it and one with nothing, both located under the seat. Tonight I cleaned every connection I could find looking for corrosion. Didn't find any but put di-electric grease in all the connections anyways. It was acting differently tonight. Now the display unit just flickered but when I turned the lights on the display would come on and the engine would keep running. Throttle had no effect on it. Ive been told that the black/yellow wire is the ground so I tested for a ground from the connector at the cluster to the battery and there was none. I also could not find a ground from the battery to the frame. I do not usualy work on 4 wheelers but do they not use the frame for a ground as a car would? Anyboey have a wireing diagram?

its sounds like the buss connector under the rear fenders by the gas tank is buggered up and causing all your problems chances are ur bike is an 05 and this is your problem it causes all sorts of crazy mishaps and is easily fixed just search buss connector mod

Bike is an 07. key off voltage of the battery is 12.43V running voltage is 12.43V. Shouldn't it be charging around 14v when bike is running. think this could cause the problem?

Found bus connector mod. Found rear bus connector. there is no black/yellow wire in it tho which was supposed to be the problem wire, the ground. there is a yellow bus connector further down the harness full of black/ yellow wires. tiny bit of corrosion in the white bus connector cleaned it, no change. None in the yellow. Have no continuity from yellow bus connector to the negative on the battery or to the frame. Does anybody know where the frame ground is located.
