Mud Issues?
I am a new 09 750i owner and wanted to see if there are any areas on my atv that are likely to let in mud or muddy water when playing in the mud. I was stuck in a 2ft hole two days after I purchased the atv for 20 minutes or so. I ended up pinning gravel between both the rear wheels and hubs which punctured both rear rims and bent the rotors on the front. I just wanted to see if there are any other problems I may not be able to see before I take it out again. Also, if there are any sites I could find rotors for less than $80 a rotor?
I found this site a few days ago and just joined. It seems to be a great place with allot of helpful members.
Thanks for any info,
George

Welcome!
If you hadn't done so already, you might want to think about an EHS mudder lid, with the stock intake plugged up. Never had it happen to me, but if you do a little research, you'll find all kinds of issues about water in the airbox......

Here in NM, deep mud or even water is not a issue but we do have Mountain streams to cross and at different times of the year they can be deep. In the past I always slowed down for the crossings but not since I have installed the EHS Mudder lid. With the stock air-intake blocked off I can now charge through the crossings w/o any more water-intake problems.
Air intake noise isn't too loud either with this EHS Mudder Lid, a little bit more than stock but I find it to be a sweet sounding Brute.

I like the lid but the price seems a little high. I might just go with a snorkle setup. Seems that will only cost a little more. What about the differentials and oil? Any places I should look out for?
Thanks,
George

Front diff takes same oil as the engine, whatever you've chosen. The rear diff takes a tractor fluid...mobil 424 or something similar. I use Amsoil everywhere.....just my preference......be careful when filling, they will seemingly "top-off" and then recede, quite a few times before actually being full......

True, the EHS Mudder lid is not cheap in cost but again it is not a cheapy built air-intake Lid. Allot of work went into the design, the welding and stainless steel bolts and a new air-cleaner lid or you can use your own Lid and install the parts yourself.

It looks very well made/designed and I could see paying up to $100 but for what they go for a snorkel seems to be a better deal with a little more security. Some say the snorkel breaths better also. I'll most likely go with a good snorkel sometime soon. Right now I'm looking at radios to mount to the front rack. lol I'm leaning toward the tube type so I will be able to fit the snorkel but I'm not sure if it'll be loud enough.
Thanks,
George

Something else you may want to think about is relocating the Radiator to your top rack. This is something alot of people do with the big CC engines. I have a 06 650 & have several overheating issues due to the radiator clogged up with mudd after taking if deep.
