How much under armor is needed?
Hi. I recently bought a new left over 2009 BF 750i. For my first real ride, I hooked up with a local club and traveled to the black hills for 4 days of riding. The scenery was fantastic, but it was very slow going because of all of the rocks. One of which ripped off my rear skid plate. After that experience, I want to add a little more protection down below. I have been looking at the HDPE skid plates on ebay, but I am not sure if that is the best way to go or not. Also, how much protection do I really need down there? I definitely want the chassis skid, and probably the A-Arm guards, but I am not so sure about the floor board plates. Does anyone have any experience where they needed protection for the floor board? I use my ATV for trail riding and plowing snow, and that is about it so I am not sure I rfeally have a need for them. Any thoughts or comments??

I would say that you are the best judge of that. I have full skids, and they are gouged and dented to hell. I trail ride, and mud ride, but I'm not a deep water rider.

I don't list all the mods, but unless I supercharge the V Force, I've run out of things to do to it or bolt on to it.

Scramble96 - I actually make those HDPE skids on ebay and sell em here to you guys for a reduced price. Several guys have have bought them from me on ebay and here. The full skids are a must in my opinion because there isn't even anything covering your rear drive shaft or the front of the rear end.
The best story I have on personal experience using the HDPE skids is when I came over a hill at 50mph and the rear end came down on a huge rock..hit it so hard that the rear end actually kicked back up. It hit directly in the spot where Kawi doesn't have one. Saved my rearend literally Yes it made a gouge in the skid but no cracks or anything...tough stuff. And the best part of all is it comes back to shape unlike aluminum.
As far as floorboards...I've read of guys that have cracked the outer part of the stock floorboard... that's why I decided to make these which completes everything underneath for not that much more $$. I'll tell you though that you'd probably want to drill some drain holes in them if you go through deep stuff otherwise they will hold mud....PM me if interested

I just noticed you're from Wisconsin...what trails do you ride? Dusty Trails or Dungood system by chance?

I didn't look at where you're from, but if it's anything like the riding in Rhinelander I'd get them on ASAP.

I would say you don't need the floor board if your not a rock crawler, just be carfull climbing over logs at an off camber angle (I bent the tube under my floor board)

I usually ride in the Chequamegon national forest near my home town. But I have ridden in the Dusty Trails and Dungood areas. I live in the Waupaca area and have to trailer to do any riding. Hopefully there will be trails here some day!

We usually do the Dungood trails, which IMO are the best I've ridden on in the state...mix of everything we like...if you get plan to ride up there, let me know!

I just ordered a full set of the HDPE plates (Skids, a-arm and floor boards) for my machine, my wifes machine and my buddies.
This picture had me sold! It looks like pretty complete protection.
