Default KFX400 carb bowl screws tight!....REALLY TIGHT!....

I attempted to install a new Dynojet in my carb today, but couldn't get the screws out of the carb bowl.....jeez, those babies are screwed in tight!....

I had read before to expect them to give me trouble.....but not THIS much trouble!.....

O.k....any good suggestions on getting those 4 screws out without tearing them up?.....

They're hard to get out. I remember the first time I tried. I didn't strip them but came close. Sprayed some WD40 on them and it helped some but it still took awhile.

yeah, I wish they were easier to screw out......man, I just don't understand why the factory put'em in so tight?........

I'm gonna' try a new screwdriver with the "gripper grooves" in the tip.....if that doesn't work, I'll attempt using a small pair of vise grips to lock onto the head and attempt breaking them loose......If THAT fails, I'm taking to the dealer and let them install the jets for me!.......

I used some easy-outs I got from Sears and removed the old screws and replaced them with M-4 allen head screws which can be purchased from any hardware store I got mine from Lowes and covered them in anti-seeze. Now changing jets only takes maybe 3 min tops!

If you strip the philips slots, take a small hack saw and make grooves for a standard screw driver. And take the carb completely out so you can get leverage.

I was trying to avoid taking the carb completely out of the quad, but it appears, that to access the screws properly, I'm gonna' have to do just that!.......or, take it to the dealer and let them deal with it!....

Thanks again for all the tips!.....
