Default TrailTech Vapor With Stock Dash

TrailTech has a really nice billet dash you can get with the Vapor---But there are a few cons---1. Big $$$---2. There is no space for the key switch, (you have to move it)---3. I think you have to change to 1 1/8 bars to fit it.

So I decided to find a way to mount it to the stock dash to avoid these 3 issues. First I got a second stock dash---Filed down the plastic to fit the mount I made---Made 2 different mounts, one using their cheap little plastic bar mount they send out, and the other I improvised with billet aluminum and little brackets---Drilled a 1/2" hole above the key switch for computer wires to go through.

The pics are from rough to completion so you could see how it came together.

I'm pretty stoked as it works perfectly and even though it's red necked---It looks good too.

With the one on the left---The Vapor can be adjusted up/down

Back side---Changed those screws out with black cap screws

Now the Vapor is mounted on the other one

And the back side with cap screws now

And a front view

Will post up when I get it on the V Force.

Kenny

Default HID Lights On The V-Force

I've tried several combos and here is what I have come up with---The one HID was plenty and way better than stock----But the 2 HID's lit up the whole desert---Tried them at Glamis and man they were great---I was parked next to Robby Gorden, ( http://www.vimeo.com/7966993 ), and his mechanic and they had the expensive TrailTech's, (one spot and one flood), but said these were much better and were going to get them when they got home----So here's how I put them on the V---This has nothing to do with appearance as they are only used after dark---The whole object was to have something powerful and be able to remove it at will---I can change my hoods, (and lights) in approx. one minute and they are totally plug and play---This way they don't get beat up during the day riding.

These are from Kragen/O'Reilly---Paid $99 each

This is an old beater hood with pieces of hardware that I tweeked to get them to fit on the hood.

There they are roughed in

Painted and wired for plug and play

Here it is with one light

And here it is with both

How they sit looking from the seat--Little black button on left is light switch

So that's it

Kenny
