Hi guys! I haven’t posted in a while, but I am back and looking to tear into the motor a little. I have a question regarding jetting the stock carbs on a 700 kit. From what I remember once you get in the 190’s on jets it doesn’t seem to give it much more fuel. With my setup now I am already 185/187. To those with 700 kits, what type of jetting are you running on stock carbs? Are you drilling the jets? I am a little scared to spend $500 on a kit and not be able to tune it right on the stock carbs.

You`ll end up drilling jets.
At sea level>5/64ths to 3/32nds will be very close.

A 700 kit with stage 2 cams and 12 holes in air box lid jets drilled 3/32 should be almost spot on for where you are usually stock pilots and no shims under the needle either

I was hoping I didn’t have to drill jets, but I’ll probably run a stage 1 cams as I do not want to do valve springs. I believe stage1 cams are the only ones you can run w/o springs… The 5/64ths to 3/32nds should be a good range with stage 1 cams?

I think the new kit they have doesn't, but I am not 100% sure on that.

New Stage 1's don't need valve springs. I don't know of anyone who has run the new Stage 1's but I would say you would probably still be close with 5/64 or 3/32.

I just realized I'll probably need the catch can also. I assume none of these kits come with one.
