A friend and I both have 2007 kfx700 they were bought about two months apart they are both ridden about the same but here is the problem. My friends bike has a problem with valve adjustment when we check the valve lash for the first time several months back the valve lash on the intake valve was to tight. After adjusting the valves he rode the bike for about a month and noticed it was getting hard to start so he get the valve adjustment and once again it had taken all the lash out on the intake valves. We have repeated this process two or three times in the last six months. Can anyone tell why or how the intake valves can losing valve lash. On my bike we check the valves and have not had to make any adjustments.

It has been a problem on here a few times were the valves actually sink into the heads. If you can look and compare the intake valves stems and see if one of the stems are higher than the other. This usually is the only visual way to tell without pulling the heads and checking for sure. I would almost bet this is what is happening as it has happened to others, not common but has happened.

Mine is an 07 as well and it is doing the same thing. I adjusted mine again today and it seems to run fine. I am gonna just keep adjusting until there isn't any adjustment left. I have adjusted mine atleast 6 times since I've owned it.
