Default Whats the best set up for road and trail

Hi Guys Whould like a little advice on what would be the best way to go with my KFX 700.
The engine is stock at the moment its an 05 had it since new.
Little bit of back ground on me so you get a better idea on what I'm after and need.
I Live in Perth Western Australia in 2002 got crushed between bike ZX12 and truck which broke my back. I'm now a paraplegic T8-T9. Long story and not why I'm here. Life goes on.
My Bike is licensed as a wheelchair (bike being KFX 700) I ride it quite alot on the road around the city. Get a shit load of looks and stares as quads here genraly are not aloud on the road. I also do heaps of trail riding and hit the dunes 3 or 4 times a year so not realy alot hit the trails most weekends and on the road several times a week.
The bigest down fall of the bike on the road is its not fast enough and is reving too high at 100km/h. Sorry don't know miles/h only km/h
I NEED MORE POWER.
What I want is to be able to lunch my mates in the trails, keep up with some pretty powerfull machines on the road.
I still have my ZX12 and have eyed off the engine quite a few times thinking on how it would look fitted up in the KFX ( now that would be a bullshit briliant machine set up)
But would also make it no longer road worthy so not an option here.
I.'d like to be able to lift the front wheels at 100km/h if I so wanted too and I do
Thing is I go bush alot by myself. So reliability is the most important. If the bike shits the tin I can't get off and walk home.
I want as much power as I can get without buggerising the reliability of the bike.
I love this thing have floged the living shit out of it and it has never once let me down EVER in 4 years. Now thats a bloody good bike.
I already have the twin Yoshi pipes on it K&N and jetted thats it.
Time to put some power into it.
Been reading alot of threads about big bore kits.
How would a 730 kit stroked to a 770 or something like that go.
Would I get reliability out of a 900 kit or 840.
Thanks in advance for any help.

another problem with putting the zx engine would be the shiftong. vforcejohn has a zx10 turbo powered v, its SICK!! maybe see if fundy could set u up a turbo engine. stock bore would still fly.
if you really would want to do an engine swap maybe try and find the 1000cc two stroke arctic cat snowmobile engine!! that would be a fun ride. good luck with everything

No experience with the really big bores, but I bought my FST800 used and it has been totally reliable. I could probably increase HP with bigger carbs and a different exhaust, but it's got all the power I need right now. To increase top speed, you can install a set of German Gears in the rear and another set internally. A modified clutch also helps. However, you will probably want to upgrade the shocks and add a steering stabilizer to handle the power & speed. Really, the only limit is your wallet.

i would go with a 800+ big bore engine, i wouldnt bother stroking an engine untill you get the most bore size you can first.. a 770 big bore will work better than a 770 stroker.. also ditch the yosh pipes and get a muzzy pro.. give ray at fundy a call, he can set you up with what you are looking for out of your V.. very reliable engines. 1-902-893-3966

if you havent machined your clutch for overdrive, do it.. an .080" OD will get you alot more speed, and an aftermarket CDI will give you more RPM to play with after you get your engine built.

Why the muzzy pro. Its a single I love the look of the twins. Is there a better set of twins out there that work as well as the muzzy pro.

Perth here too. I think I met you at the Royal Show last year. Scootamoto right? There is a taller gear set that can be ordered for our kfx's, a german set. Plenty of posts on here about them so part numbers should be on here somewhere, maybe someone will chime in. I dont know if Kawasaki Australia will be any help as they arent very forthcoming about overseas parts. Should be fairly easy to get hold of online tho. I have been eyeing up Ducati 916 pistons to do a big bore conversion but havent physically measured any up yet. I do know they have the same stroke and piston pin diameter tho, just unsure on deck height. Would need resleeving but shouldnt be too much of a drama. I'm not sure if that is what vforcejohn used in his 916. I have heard only good things about vforcejohns cut clutches so they are an option for more road speed. Means being without a clutch for a few weeks tho. Bummer when the sand is so good up at Lancelin. Was up there last weekend and it was nicely packed down with the rain we have had. Fantastic.

You could always fit up some big tyres on road rims for when you head on the road and swap them over for the trail.

Where you guys are so far away from VFJ, any machine shop would be able to do the basic top speed mod on the primary clutch.

the LTE duels work good, but they are crazy loud, may not be a good thing if you drive it in town.
