Default Is there a dr. in the house?

I beieve my V has caught "tierod-con-bent-idious"!

Me and AaronJ met up at the newest ATV park in our area. So I was doing my best to keep up with Aaron's lil 13 year old brother Nick and sliding around a nice winding turn. The turn straightened out so I straightened it out and nailed it. Even with the extension, it lifted the front end. No biggie, I was straight enough to ride it out. But the right rear grabbed some roots and turned the quad into a nice size tree. So I limped back to the trailer, and swapped to the Renegade for the rest of our ride.

So my question is I know I'm buying the tierods from Ven, but my ends have no play at all. Are the ends from Ven "heavier duty" or should I just buy the rods.

Thanks

-Greg

Hey Greg did you bend the tierod or break the end.I had a little mishap with mine back in May that broke the end and bent the hd tierod.I think ven might have the better ends but I heard the honda 400 ends are bigger also.I even banged up my prm sidebar.

Nope just the rod is bent. The rod touches the control arm it is bent so bad. But nuthing is broke had to limp back to the truck about a mile. Would have sucked if it broke! Are the 400ex rod stronger?

From what I've heard they are stronger.

A little late now, and I don't know if anyone out there carries tools but the stock rods can be removed, and straightened pretty easily by hand by just sticking it in the foot peg to hold it secure. Good tip to know.

I have a set of HD tierods and these babies are tough. But, the ends are the stock ends but you need to have a weak link somewhere. I couldn't imagine bending these without totaling the machine.

I bent my hd tierod and didn't total the machine if you look in the pic you can see the threaded part is bent and it was also bent in the middle.I sent it back to asr and they sent me a new one free of charge.

Ya yours bent but I'd bet mine won't without some serious damage. Mine if some may remember were KTM265 HD design. I bit of overkill but the price was right, and I got 2 sets.

maybe thinking about it is the reason I have trouble with high speed and lifting the front?
