Thumbs up jetting questions

Hello all.Cannot seem to get my quad right at the local bike shops.I have a 06 700 with White bros full system,12 hole mod,6deg key,upp crossover intakes, pink spring.I had it tuned and wont start easy and if it sits for 2 weeks it spins over a while before it tries. When warm it feels great.but it seems rich, it pops on decel, can see flames from the pipe too.my elevation is 108 ft where i ride.what needles and adustments do you guys think i should run,and what would you buy next?

well, the upp intakes are the only thing that throws my thoughts off. If it were mine Id go with 42 pilots shimmed stock needles and 180-182 mains to start off. Im guessing probably the only thing that would need changed from that point would be the mains. If you get it right lemme know because Id like to get the upp's also and the 6deg key. Other than that were about the same as far as mods go.

Do you know what size pilots and main jets are in it---Before you take it to a shop---Give it a try here---The guys here are great and can walk you through most any repair even if your novice at it---It's a great feeling to tackle something a little over our heads and accomplish it---You'd be surprised at what you might be able to do with these guys tutoring you---Just sayin.

I agree. Jets are easy to change and something to get your feet wet to work on these.

Note sure if this will help guys but I have much the same set up as you are talking about but without the 6 degree key and a muzzy exhaust but I do have the intakes from Vjohn. I am sea level and am jetted with 42 pilots, shimmed needles and am running a jet size of 240 in both carbs. It is equivalent to the 3/32 drilled jet. starts and runs great.
