Lakota electrical problem.

My lakota won't run right unless hooked up to a battery charger. I know the battery in it isn't that great, either that or my charger is junk. I thought that the stator should be able to run the fourwheeler just fine even if the battery is dead. Any ideas?

Assuming your wires and cables are in good shape, the battery may just be bad. If it has sat for a while, it may not charge right again either. It could be dead enough to keep the bike from running. Atv stators are pretty weak, so they don't charge much like a car's alternator. Combine a weak stator with a dead or possibly shorted battery and you see what can happen.

I would have the battery tested at a place you trust and see what they say.

HMMMMM ive never had that happen before. stator should run the quad. MAYBE, the wire from the stator that gives the quad juice isnt giving the whole thing power. you have to do some detective work and see why it isnt running the quad. thats most likely why the battery hasnt been charged by the stator. bet you have an electrical problem and the quad just isnt getting power to all the parts!

actually i have found owning a bayou same motor and wiring harness and setup that if u have a low or dead battery they will not run they need a charged battery to complete the capacitor discharge ignition cycle without a good battery the stator does not put out enough amps to run itself just enough to keep it charged
