the mojave and lakota engines are alike, not the lakota and bayou. If you get the cvk 34 from the mojave it might run good...But if you already have a carb from the lakota I suggest using the lakota carb. For a piston, you can buy a piston for the lakota...a bayou piston wont work.

Um, are you sure about this? The Lakota engine is the Bayou engine with the output shaft changed and the cam changed. How can the Mojave and Lakota engines be the same or similar when one is liquid cooled and the other air cooled? They aren't even the same CC's.

I also just went to powersportspro.com and checked part numbers. The pistons are the same part number. The carbs however are not the same p/n. I don't know if a bayou carb would work or not. I'm sure you could make it work since they are the same engine basically but it may take some ingenuity.

Any questions holler at me. I've pretty much had most of my top end torn down and my lakota was so beat up I've done a lot of research on them.

Haha, you can use a bayou carb... But a stock lakota carb will be much easier to tune...technically you can put whatever carb you want on the bike. A 450r carb will be alot harder to tune and it would take so much modification its not worth it, but technically it can be done. Go with a lakota carb definitely

Helpful tip that worked on the lt80 carb I just did. Boil the carb for 45 minutes to an hour. to get in all the tight places. Then just shoot it with carb cleaner when you pull it apart for the rebuild. Worked great on the little lt80 carb I just rebuilt. Don't see why it wouldn't work for you too. It'll surprise you the amount of dirt that ends up in the bottom of the pot.
