hi guys would one of you be kind enough to post an idiot guide on posting pics
i cant get my head around it at all and want to throw the computer through the window

You can't,. you have to be a premiun member or do what I do, I use photobucket.com

Like PIPO said, I use Photobucket.
You upload your photo to photobucket then you copy the image link and paste it in your post. Then you can preview your post to make sure that it shows up. If you can see it when you preview then you just post and it shows up. Otherwise you have to be a premium member then you can just post picture straight from your computer.
