I got had, 1st KFX

So I always wanted a KFX700 ever since I road one 10 years ago in PA on camping trip.
Anyways fast forward I'm on Facebook market place and see a 2006 red lava. Says the timing marks don't line up. He finally gets back to me. I drive to Alabama, find out he is a mechanic and tells me the story no time, family issues, etc. So I'm like ok timing chains and some work no big deal. I'm a mechanic by trade so it can be fixed.
I start to dig into the timing situation.
Long story short I find it has brazing gobs on the end of the crank.. damn it cracked some idiot used a regular puller on the flywheel. Marked up the flywheel timing marks, broke a gear off the starter drive behind the flywheel Wich in turn chewed up the intermediate gear from the starter.
This thing just got expensive 😣.

Any places to get good crank for cheap?
I was thinking of the hotcrank and rods with the wiesco pisons on eBay. Anyone have experience with that kit?
Details:
Dynatech ignition
2006
Stock engine?
Bought used
Oil looks black and old
Has oil catch can

Words of advice?

One more thing the key was shered on the flywheel and it didn't start when I added fuel. Engine has little compression but related that to mechanical comp release. Could the flywheel sheard keyway make it not start? I don't see why it would but not sure. I'm new to these engines and haven't studied them yet.
Thank you

If you look closely at the top right corner of pic you will see the missing tooth and cracked tooth next to it on the starter drive.
I pick up a CD manual on eBay. I'm going in.

Garage
If the flywheel isn't lined up with the key, then the ignition timing is off.
The flywheel is a taper fit on the crank; all the key does it keep everything lined up until the crank bolt is torqued down.
I'm going to say you will need a crankshaft.

Ok that makes sense then and why it wasn't running.
Looks like I'll be shopping for a kit. Might as well do the Pistons, right?

Try going to Bobby Beam at revzcycles.com . He may be able to hook you up. He is pretty well known for supplying brute force parts. He is reliable too.

Vforcejohn at Interstate Motorsports may be able to direct you for a parts hook up. He and other builders were part of the kfx700 modification craze way back.

They have to big drag lines parked in the woods there.
I moved to Georgia.
