I have a 04 Prairie and front actuator not locking /moving. 4x4 Light does go on after 2 minutes. Why does light go on if no locking at the front?
Actuator bench tested and works fine.
Re-attach actuator to cable on bike and no movement when switching from 2 to 4 wheel drive. Actuator is removed and hanging by cable
No voltage found at actuator connector when switching back and forth
2x4 switch continuity checks good
Is there a procedure for correctly installing the front actuator with the funky swing tab. Installed last week and noticed unit got hot. Removed and found tab got hot and scrape marks on the damaged. The twisting metal tab has marred marks but as mentioned above, bench test was good. New quad for my daughter and trying to make it right.
Also, during front plastic removal, found blown fuse...RED wire on one side and BROWN wire on the other. Inserted new fuse and quickly blew the second fuse. Something is not good with that line. There is a second fuse under the front plastics which is fine. Second fuse has BLUE and BLUE colored wires.
Thanks for any reply
