Hey guys, I just picked up a 1998 Kawasaki prairie 400 4x4, since I’ve bought the Atv it doesn’t go past 20 mph in high or low gear. When I put in gear the Atv seems to take long to respond to the throttle but once it does it doesn’t pass 20 mph but the engine isn’t revving at high rpm. But when I rev it in neutral it’s responds and revs perfectly. What can it be? I’m honestly stuck on this one

Easy things first.
make sure the engine oil and diffs are ok and proper levels.
make sure airfilter and intake Are not plugged
make sure you have fresh fuel

make sure fuel line isnt kinked or pinched
if fuel still doesnt flow well....
make sure fuel filter in tank isnt plugged

then if all checks out, time to look at maybe doing a carb cleaning and or pulling the clutch cover off to inspect belt and clutches.

I know the brakes aren’t to great, what I just noticed is that there’s a tube coming out of the rear brakes but it’s not connected to anything

I checked all the other things. The other things were fine. I went out for a ride today when I got back I noticed there’s was a lot of oil in the air box filter even the lid had oil on it 😅
