Hi guys, I just have a question for you all I have a 2002 650 prairie that will only go up to 30 mph in low and up to 45 mph in hi gear once it gets to those speeds it starts to cough and acts as it were runing out of gas or something, can someone help with this? Thaks for your time and help.

maybe the belt hit the trip switch in the cvt cover

Do you have any motor mods? It sounds to me like the main jets may be too rich (or too lean). Check your plugs.

I got a P.M. of broken slide springs from a member on here and he replaced one then the other broke...Very odd who would think that. He said his performace just went flat doggy...jh

i don't think it would be your belt trip switch mine wouldn't go over 10mph or something like that , when i had that problem .


did this just start all at once , or over a period of time ?

Incorrect jetting. what do you have done to it???

snorkel, exhaust, air box modded in ay way???

carbs fall out of the boots??

Hi I have 2 that had the exact same problem. The pet ock leaks gas into the motor and fouls the plugs. U have to change the plugs and oil and filter at the same time and always to the petcock off. Every time u use it.
