I am new to this site and I hope somebody can give me some info to help. I have a 2004 kvf700a-1 kawasaki prairie that was given to me. I was sitting dormant for 13 yrs. I didn't even know if I could get it running but first thing I did was take the gas tank off cause I know that sitting gas turns into a varnish type thing. It has so much tarrie, varnish in it but I bot it all cleaned out and put non ethanol gas in it. next I tore apart the carb. and cleaned it, put a new air filter on it, changed the motor oil and filter and finally got it started. it runs but when you give it gas, it goes to backfire and won't rev up. It wants to dog out. It idles fine until you push the throttle. I don't know what to look at next. I've worked on atvs before but older ones, newer ones I'm not really experienced at to much. Help

Where exactly are the passages? I do know that a prairie 700 has a twin carb and I did take it off once and I didn't split it into two parts but I did clean what I saw so evidently I missed something but I am willing to take it apart again to clean the passages but what exactly are they or do you recommend a website that maybe would show me more about how it comes apart and shows me more. This is the first twin carb I ever worked with.

You should be able to find an exploded view of the carbs online.
You will have to remove the jets to get to some of the passages.Check the jet openings also.
Go to a welding supply store or maybe Home Depot and purchase a welding tip cleaner.
This has many small diameter rods that could fit in the carb passages to clean out the gunk.Guitar strings can also be used.
Soak the carbs in a good cleaner and blow out the passages with compressed air.
