I have a new squealing issue that appears to occur when the alternator is under load (all lights on) and the engine is revved up such as when driving.
There is no noticeable squeal at idle or when revved up under no alternator load (all lights off).
My suspicion is that the belt is slipping or possibly the alternator bearings are starting to fail, not sure how to tell so I plan to replace the belt and monitor from there (unless anyone has advise on this).
While looking at it today though I noticed that the water pump pulley appears to also be chewing into the timing belt cover. Is this the normal spacing and just damage from the small amount of belt frey? Or is this something bigger?
While; the motor is running there is no noticable wobble on any of the pullelies and when off none appear to have any noticable play/movement.
Thanks
