Had this happen twice now to my Mule pro-mx first time Dealer fixed under warranty then happened again yesterday so pulled cover off found Gear starting clutch comes out easily if you pull shaft out that it turns on. I feel that normally these type of clutch packs are immersed in oil all the time such as in automatic transmission or tractor gearboxes. When the starter engages this is supposed to reduce the initial torque from wrecking gears etc but because of its location in the crankcase its never immersed in oil and just gets a bit splashed on the outside so the small clutch plates inside wear very quickly . I have pulled this apart and cleaned and soaked the plates in oil then reassembled making sure Diaphragm springs are put in correct way then made up a shim to fit under circlip on opposite end to springs Put center hub in before compressing plates to align splines.
Easy way to get 19 mm nut off is to use a cordless impact driver
Works great now
