theres a actuator on your frt diff that rotates 2wd/4wd in and out! you may have broken the tit that sticks out of it! if you pull the three bolts off and remove it, inspect the tit, that may be your problem!

I try to swap to 4 wheel drive and my dash indicates that the swap is made but it never actually engages
