Brand New 2023 MULE SX FI with bad brakes?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and have been doing some searching here to no avail. I just bought a brand new 2023 MULE SX 4x4 FI. Got it home and immediately noticed very weak braking using the pedal brake, which should be quite powerful considering it is a hydraulic-assisted 4-wheel drum config. The parking/hand brake works fine, but the brake pedal is terrible, mushy and weak... to the point where it is almost impossible to lock the wheels on a steep hill. At first I thought the brake shoes needed a break-in as usual, so we put 10 hrs of stop and go on it. Still bad, so I bled the brakes to make sure no air was in the lines. I did not see any air bubbles... totally clear lines. 14-hrs on it now, and still no good.

I hate to have to load it and drive 2-hrs each way to return it to the dealership for warranty service.

Anyone noticed weak braking on the Mule SX line... particularly on new vehicles?
Any ideas to try besides bleeding and break-in?

Thank you!

Found that if the parking brake is tightened to much, the brakes do not work as well, check that the parking brake is to specs

Will give that a shot... thank you.
I just bought a 2023 Mule SX 4x4 as well, and have the exact same brake experience. The sales guy says they are all that way. When I take it in for the 50 hour service, I am gonna mention it again.
