i wanted some feedback on this, i wanted to help my 06 750bf, i just bought the dyna cdi& will be installin it ,motor is stock, gonna do some cooling mods, snorkel, uni soon, im runnin 26 mudlights/stock rims now but plan on tire wheel change soon to at least27, maybe 28 but nothing bigger, is this a difficult mod? which springs would you guys recomend? i was gonna do maroon prim & black sec, only cause few other guys have it listed, is this a noticable difference? i have a couple mouths to shut up both claming victory in drags over sev brutes, 07 kingquad stock, and 08 grizz with fmf& jetting, both runnin stock rims/tires they are both smaller riders150-170lbs, and im 285, i could loose the extra100 lbs but that mod will take to long, & i dont see it happening, cause ill b too busy playin on my brute, and wheres best place to pick up these springs? i will apreciate your input thanks guys

If you change any springs you will gain something, but you have to lose something as well. I put the maroon epi spring in my main and gained low end but lost top end. If you are putting larger tires the maroon spring will help your launch, (low end) but you will lose some of your top speed. Hope this helps.
Neither of those quads you listed should take the BF in a drag, unless it's long enough to allow the Grizz and KQ a chance to reach top speed.
I agree, neither one of those machines stand a chance in a race with you! Especially not the single cylindered grizz! Not much can beat a 750 brute stock besides maybe an 800 can am!!
Send your primary to VFJ for the stage 3 and never look back! Put an almond in the secondary and you will have power to spare and all for less then $400. It will be like a new machine
thanks for the tips and great link guys
a buddies 660 grizz could creep past me when we race. little did he know my belt was slipping and shot along with my 27 zillas. he has stock rims and tires BTW.
now i have all the MODS in my sig. and he dont know yet...i just let him think that 660 was faster!!! hahahhahaha
hell go all out. stage 3 primary with roller upgrade, and lighter secondary. the more you remove from the spinning mass the more power goes to the wheels. and yes to gain you must loose. its a matter on what your wanting to do. for me its all lowend and midrange so i went with maroon primary and almond secondary, with my 28" tires. when i run my 29.5" outlaws. i place a shim under the primary. to raise the stall speed alittle bit. other then that no changes and i can still out run my cuz griz 700 till i hit about 50mph witch then he passes me. and his is all stock. but he cant keep up to me on the trails. i just out pull him on the hills and tight turns.
hey i just bought an 09 bf 750 and am waiting for my stage 3 clutch to come back in the mail from v force john, my buddie has a bone stock 850xp and is on my case to race him. do i stand a chance against him if all i have is a stage 3 clutch or am i out to lunch?

Even if you don't beat him be happy you have a better quality machine! I think you should be able to get him though. I pick up my 09 750 tomorrow and got my VFJ in the mail today. i had one on my 650 and it was the best mod ever
you should be good with the 850xp.

I rode one and they are made to be comfortable, not fast IMO.

did you have stage 2 or 3 for your 650 ?

I'm pretty sure you won't stand a chance against an 850xp. They do feel slower because of the clutch engagement, but they are deceivingly fast.
This thread is 6 years old.
Yep, 6 years old and I agree with Jakesbrute. The 850xp will win in a race.

Yup. Not much chance for a stock 2009 BF750.
Not saying I like the XP, but that's the facts.

Ha ha ha blast from 2010.

Yup, stock 850xp or King or Grizz vs. a stock brute with big tires and just a clutch mod (and a rider 100lbs more) won't be fun.

With all my mods and 60lb's more on the rider of a 850 scrambler and he had a bus length on me on pavement.

In the dirt it was allot closer depending on traction however he would still walk me up top.

The Brutes are monsters down low/out the hole, after that even with clutch work the newer quads in the same class are all pretty close to faster than the brute.
