Ok, bought a 2006 brute force last week. Fuel was leaking out of the overflow tube from the carbs. Pulled carbs today, figured out which one was overfilling which was one in the rear. Dropped cover on bowl and found needle stuck open under float and worked it free with some carb cleaner. Reassembled everything. Had seat off , went to start and noticed a spark at the positive lead and popping noise somewhere near the fuse box.Checked fuses all three were good. Loss power to indicators, and would not start. Turned key off and back on after a minute, started fine but oil light was blinking constant.Rode the bike and had poor reaction to throttle and could only get thirty mile an hour wide open. Feels like half the bike before we tried to fix the leak. All help would be very appreciated...

do a search on buss connector fix 05 and i think 06 might of had problems now your carbs need to be pulled apart and cleaned sounds like old gas. if the float needle was stuck thats bad. clean out jets etc on carbs.make sure you put carb box and air cleaner lid back on when you test ride it. pull your spark plugs and read them that will tell you if you are rich or lean
