i was just wondering where the closest rideable dunes are to maine? im in nova scotia canada, but maine is only a 5 hr drive from here.. i always wanted to ride the dunes since i was a youngster, and hopefully someday ill be able to.. i know about the silver lake dunes in michigan, but are there any closer? thanks guys!

Theres the "Desert of Maine" in Freeport but you can't ride there it's a visitor center now. But, it does exist.

Then there's the "Leed's Desert" in Leeds, Maine. You can ride there with written permission on you as anywhere in Maine as the law requires if you don't own the land yourself or it is set aside for atv's.

The Leeds area is about 150sq yards with an incline of 5ft, and it does have a old car hood you can do burnouts on. but I would have to say having been there one or twice myself. It's wasn't worth my time as we were going by to stop let alone driving 5 hours to either place to see it.

there is a lot of riding in sanford maine near the sanford airport. a few sand pits and trails.

looks like i may just have to jump on a plane and fly somewhere and rent a machine when i get there.. i think vegas would be fun.. dune all day, casinos all nite.. and i may even get drunk enough to marry the GF.. hehe

dunes? i would love to but i dont think its going to happen this year.. we just bought a new home and ill be strapped for a while.. is there somewhere to rent a machine, and i dont mean a recon or blaster.. :lol: or do i have to take my own?

Leeds desert doesn’t exist I’ve been trying to find it for like an hour on google wtf
