So I got a comet clutch that came with my V. Today I got my epi pink drs20 spring and installed it in my comet. I tied with and without a spacer for the spring to push the clutch closer to the belt and in both trials it had no power at full throttle it was only running maybe 30 mph. When it’s in neutral and I give it throttle it engages the belt and revs up but in gear it seems it can’t get out of its own way. Also the spring that was in it is about a half inch taller than the epi pink. My question is does anyone know if you need to run a certain spring in a comet since it is different then the oem and maybe that could explain why it’s is acting like that?

I had always heard you had to run only Comet parts in their clutches. Just hear-say but I would email EPI and ask them. Great people to work with.

Update so the other day I checked my compression on both cylinders it was about 63 psi. So when I put the plugs back in I only hooked the front cylinder up and forgot to hook the back plug back up so I mistook the lack of power in it being my epi spring in my comet clutch but it was really because I was running on one cylinder smh…. Installed the spring again this time running on both cylinders and it works fine lesson learned!
