Gettin rid of the SRT jeep?
practice slamming on the brakes and shifting into neutral

no they're sweet trucks though. my buddy traded his 05 F150 for one. he loves it.
My best bud has a 08 5.7 4 door 4x4. Gas mileage sucks bad. Other than that its a great truck

never ended up gettin the jeep....ugh i dont even wanna talk about that...! hahaha

gas mileage isnt a major concern for me i have a camry for that
two guys I work with have them....they like them. One has V6, the other the big 5.7...both get equally crappy mileage....the one with the V6 is pretty torqued that it doesn't get any better, or as good of mileage as the big motor....the 5.7 scoots. I think they ride rough, but I've got an 07 GMC and its the best riding truck I've been in....I'm sure the Toyota would smoke it though, unless you went up to the 6.2...I have the 5.3. I think the Toyota is ugly and way too big, but hey we all got an opinion. The Tacoma looks awesome, not sure why they didn't make it more like that.
I like them but I am a toyota fan had a tacoma and loved it

The fuel milage is awful somewhere around 14 mpg

I'm thinking all full sized trucks suck at the mileage game....my GMC with "Active fuel management" which shuts 4 cylinders off when not needed, only averages around 13-14 for my round town short trips with some highway mixed in. I did do a 3200 mile trip last summer and averaged 17.1 for the whole deal, which included a bunch of time in the mountains. Not terrible I guess, but unless you drive one speed (under 55) and never start or stop, the mileage is not gonna be stellar. I think my next vehicle will be a VW TDI. :)

I will say, the two guys that have the Tundras here.....they have not had a problem that I am aware of....seems like a good truck.
My 05 Chevy Crew Cab would do 16 in town and 20-22 on the highway. But it sure sucked if I was to pull anything. Damn 3:42 gears. It was built to be a family vehicle.
Not bad....Mine has 3:73 in it....it pulls decent....Only thing big that I pull regulary is my boat which is around 4500 lbs or so. It will pull it nice, but if I want to pull at 70 mph, it gets about 11-12 mpg.

I heard the 5.7 I-Force Tundra had 4:10s in it? can anybody verify? that would help explain the pin ya to your seat accelaration and the not so great hwy mileage.
i really like my '04 F150. its 4x4 with the 5.4 and 3.55 gears. with the edge evolution i get no less than 14 city driving and about 18-19 highway. thats with all 8 cylinders running too :p

Ford is suppose to be coming out with a 6.2L V8 real soon. will have more power and get better fuel economy then the 5.4

Yes sir they do have 4:10's in them..They used the 6 speed tranny to make up for the gas milage.. I have an 07' 5.7 with 4:22 gears in the rear end !! It WILL set ya back in the seat !! So far mine has been the best truck I have ever owned.. And I pull a 29' toyhauler with it.. I average 15 to 17 on the hwy.. About 8 when I'm pulling the camper.. But it does weigh about 12000lb when it's full.. So far I have had 0 issues nor have I had to get ANY warranty work done to it... Just the recall for the pedal..I bought mine when they first went to the new body style. They had 2 on the lot. I drove EVERY make truck out there and after driving the Yota, I went back two days later and bought it !!! The hp is what got me, 381........:D
I think that the big engines will equal bad gas mileage. Doesn't matter what you're driving. I do believe though that the Tundra will beat them all with the WORST mileage! This is coming from a very satisfied Tundra owner too! My gen 1 4.7l gets 16.5 mixed driving. It also scoots for a little v8 but I am unfortunately too familiar with gas stations.
go with a nissan titan

why would he want to downgrade?:D
I am surprised all you guys are saying that you only get 13-14 mpg with your trucks. Mine is much older ('01 Silverado Z71 w/ 5.3L) and I have heavy 33/1250R17 tires/wheels and I average around 13 when I am not pulling my 2-place trailer. I think I get 11 when I am pulling it. It just seems like with all of the newer technology since the 2001 model year that the trucks nowadays should be getting in the 17-18 range.

the problem with the new trucks is they have to make them heavier to pull and stop the loads they are rated for... my truck gets 17-20 with my wife driving, about 15 with me driving, the titan has a double overdrive transmission... @ 75mph i am running 1600 rpm

the newest f-150s are rated @ 20 with the 5.4 without the cylinder trickery that chevy and dodge uses

I did.... It was a joke...:p It had decent power but everything else about it wasn't very good.. It seemed to drive like a dump truck.. Nothing meant by it.. So please don't take it personally..JMO that's all..:D
i can post picks of my titan, can you post picks of your truck with your wheeler loaded in it?
