Hi,

I have a crab question. I have a 05 Kawasaki 650 Sra. The bike is snorkeled and I have disconnected the choke cables to avoid the stuck choke issues. Even though I cover the snorkel initially this ATV is a bear to crank. Once it cranked its starts pretty easy but initially it’s a pain. Is this due to the mechanical fuel pump? Are there any know fixes to
Make starting a bit easier?

Thanks

Check your valves.. They probably need adjusting.. That is the culprit of ALOT of starting issues..

valve adjustment

I did try adjusting the valves but i know there a tad loose. I can hear them ticking. So can loose valves cause hard starting?
I used a motorcycle feeler guage, but adjusting the valves proved to be a pain in the rear. Well at least for me. Is there a difrent tool or a something that might it a bit more accurate / easier. I tried setting them a couple of times using the factory specs, I.E intake .10-.15mm and .20-.25mm for the exhaust. I also set them to the low side of the spectrum intake .10mm and .20.
