head porting

im doing some head porting on 750 brute for a friend.at this point most of the work to the radius turns into the chambers.im trying to decide on how much to open up the ENTRANCE of the intake ports.i cant find any pics that other porters have done in the past.does anyone have any pics of head ports.

I believe it will all depend on the mods you have on the bike. If the motor and carbs are stock, most say that porting is useless and can actually decrease hp. Its not just getting the ports as big as you can, it all depends on the motor and how you want to ride

I really havent seen many people porting their heads on this forum. I have tried to get info on it before.
actually there are many ported heads running around. Not something most take a picture of before reassembling a motor.

How about this. Take out so much material they use epoxy to keep the guides and runners from leaking and smooth out the long side radius.
thanks t dilly for the pics thats what i needed to see.as for people skills i dont have time to listen to the idiots that read something about porting once in a magazine.ive been porting for over 23 years.i know every form has a bunch of einstein and about 2 guys that know what they are talking about.now that being said,if who ever paid more than $100 for the port work i seen in the pictures got jacked.not very semetrical or even close to be finished..

ill be happy to post our pics when im done.they wont be hogged out as much as the ones in the pic.we are not trying to turn 10gs with the engine.we expect to raise the rpms up from 500 to 1000.were raising the compression,cams,head work.tune and a small shot of nitrous.we will also post our dyno results when we are finished.

now if you want to know if i know what im talking about go to you tube.type in mouths gsxr 1000,thats my bike.these are some of my engine passes.i have 2 stages of nitrous i will be testing as soon as it warms up.

really smart ass so you idiots port every head the same.i bet you guys are really fast.i port car heads,motorcycle ect.so your advice is to take my friends 750 head that ive never done before and just start hogging it out.instead of asking some advice,and pics.donkey and guage your a bunch of idiots,just shut up.when you posted that importand coments did your crouch get bigger??i bet you went and measured it,didnt you??

Nice videos. I saw one where it ran 9.40s, that's what the guy with the cap and shorts said. Then another, on the bottle I think I heard a purge at 25 seconds in the video, where it ran 8.90s I believe. Don't they run around mid to upper 9s stock? I don't know I'm asking.

Wow internet tough guy. Yes I measured but first had to go ask for a picture and see exactly what was needed. Posted it on another form. Lucky a got good advice and the job got done but I am sure it wasn't perfect.

more like a 10.30.go get you that 8.90 bitch.when you start making power traction becomes a problem.no nitrous yet.ill have my nitrous times within this month.keep reading those magazines for your profisonal opions.
