Hey guys, I have a 2005 Brute Force. I was out riding the other day, going about 60 km/h, hit the throttle and all of a sudden it seemed like it slipped out of gear and made a terrible grinding noise. Shifter wouldn’t move until I rocked the bike a bit. Put it in to gear and was able to drive it home. Would only go about 65km/h. Any body know what could have happened for this to occur and how bad could it be?

My 06 did something like that once. The read motor mount came completely loose and slid out until it was stopped by the left plastics. It let the engine rock on the other mount and kick it out of gear at speed. Egged the mount holes a little before it came out but I held the engine up in place and reinstalled the bolt..gave it about 20extra lbs of torque with some blue loc-tite. No more issues.
