I knew I was overlooking something, and while cleaning the V I just realized that I need to install a tether to race.

I have a ProDesign but no instructions...can someone help me out?

Thanks,

Leo

Run one wire from the kill switch to the grey wire off of the V's key switch and the other kill switch wire to ground. The thermostat housing mount location is an easy place to install kill switch ground.

if its a closed switch its the red/yellow wire from kill switch

if its an open switch its the grey wire on key.

hmmmmm

one wire to grey and one to ground.

sounds simple yet it didn't work?

any suggestions?

the switch is held open and when the tether is pulled it's closed.

Double check your connections. Make sure you have a good ground.

I have installed 2 prodesign switches this same way and it worked every time.

Yep, what he said.

Prodesign is a normally open switch.

It must be a bad ground, I'll head out and try again. There's another ground on the same bolt though.

The red w/yellow wire did nothing and the yellow w/red wire blew the master fuse

I guess I should double check the tether itself...maybe I got a dud.

Still no go....does running the Copperhead change anything? According to my wiring diagram in the manual, the grey wire from the ignition goes to the igniter.

The Copperhead manual shows that:

Orange – Tether Switch (connect to +12V to kill engine)

so.....I should be able to connect one end of the ProDesign to +12V and one end to the Copperhead output.

Any thoughts or comments before I go unwrap 20' of electrical tape to find that orange wire

Thanks Dawg. I gave up on it last night and was just heading out to finish it. I`ll look at the stator wires as that sounds much simpler than running new wires all the way back to the VDI.

Gave up on it on both the V and the BruteForce.

I'll order two of the KTM ones and wire them properly. I tried grounding the grey wire on either bike and it did nothing...tried everything on the Brute....the V has an oil leak and newfound overheating problem that I think is just a smurfy thermostat...or rad cap....either way, no racing for me this weekend.

I'm about to get drunk and then go riding with the wife tomorrow I guess.

normally closed, just tie it into the factory kill switch
