The unit itself does not come with hot and negative wire pre-measured for the FXT. I had to use half of the negative to make it to the battery from the front. Then used the remaining length of ground to anchor it under the hood scoop. I removed the housing of the swith to install in the dash. Then pulled the Mule into my trailer as a test. Yes, I recommend but you'll have to modify the lines and remove the switch housing.

Thank you! I used a shop vac to blow a string through the line that goes from the front to the battery. Then tied the string to the hot wire and ran it through. Also purchased the FXT specific winch mount plate. It's a bigger plate than the one that comes with the winch.

Great idea on the shop vac use! Waaay easier to run that wire! Good call on the bespoke winch mount...universals always present frustrated fixes!
