I am new to this so please bear with me, i am having some problems with my grandfather's prairie300, the rpm's have to be really high for it to get going, once going it has to go pretty fast to run smoothly, any ideas to what this could be? I am used to my 650 pririe, this thing seems like it is a nightmare to work on, any help would be appreciated, the problem has to be in the transmission, belt, clutch, something like that i think, the engine seems to run fine, thanks

Does the Prairie300 have the same style CVT clutch as the V's, etc.? If so, sounds like the belt tension needs to be adjusted or a new belt installed.
