Hey everyone, I just got my first quad. A 2003 KFX400. It seems pretty stock.

I'm not really sure what to do in terms of maintenance for the bike. I am so confused with reading about transmission oil, brake fluid, motor oil, engine filter, air boxes ETC...

I am completely lost. Could one of you guys simply break it down for me in terms of what I need to keep and eye on and what I should change before I take it out for the first ride?

Also the steering is a bit tough to move, what should I use to loosen it up? WD40?

Thanks in advance for the help

Clean and oil your air filter and change your engine oil (drain the tank and the crankcase).
Steering should not be tight. Might be a bad bushing or something is bent. It could be a number of things.
