I have a 2004 KFX700 with very low hours on it. Everything is stock. Recently it won't idle unless the choke is on. After it warms up and I try to turn the choke off it starts to backfire through the carb and pipe (running lean?). I've taken it apart and cleaned everything. I have not checked the valves but should be OK as it only has one oil change (very low hours).

What can I do to remedy this?

Jetting: 135/140
Elevation: 2,600 ft.
Idle mixture: 1 1/2 turns out
No shims on needle

Not very skilled when it comes to carburetors. Any detailed help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
