Hi All,

Cleaned carbs for a buddy, used a rebuild kit.
I did not separate the carbs, cleaned and rebuild as a whole.
choke wasnt working properly before.

once reinstalled, started right up, waited for coolant fan to turn on and then adjusted idle to 1100 +/-50
idles very nice.

Once it was all warmed up, went for a rip and all was good.

next day I started it and didnt warm up fully (fan didnt kick in yet)
went for a ride and the carb was making almost like a ticking noise.

cam back home and took this video while in neutral, giving it some throttle.

any idea?

I adjusted air/fuel screw to oem spec, i think it was 1.5 turns out
I followed the manual

seems like its fully warme up it doesnt make the noise anymore.

is that a vacuum leak noise?

Thanks in advance!

will try and adjust the pilot screws some more

Sounds like the slides are sticking a bit. Could be a vacuum leak from the diaphragm being pinched. Could also be the "wings" or guides on the sides of slide. I saw a video suggesting the use of 800 - 2000 grit sandpaper (somewhere in that range) to very lightly smooth down the surfaces on the guides on the slide and it will move really smoothly up and down. I did it on my KFX and it works great.

Video showing how the diaphragm can get pinched on a CV slide carb:

good points, eveything was operational.
played with the pilot screw.
oem calls for 1.5 turns out but i believe thats initial before "tunning"
so I tried .5 more turns out on each and it seems a little better.

if i go any more, it bogs and misfires going reverse, but fine going high forward.

to me it seems like they need to be syncornized, but i dont have the gauges for that.

any of you sync them with no tools?

Fuel supply problem , did you clean out fuel lines and change filter , drop the pump out of the tank and clean out , as it seems from you symptoms that it is starved of fuel , gets enough to start and run but not enough when the motor calls for it ..!!!

pulled pump out, looked pretty clean,
drained tank with some fresh fuel, pretty clean

adjusted pilot screws to 3-1/4 out and seem to be much better.
still ticks a bit when doing a u-turn(low speed)

Im ok with that.

Will ride as is and do a valve adjustment, replaced plugs later on.
