So I bought a project bike and one the last things to fix is the case saver bolt. the top one was sheared and it looks like the guy filled the hole with JB weld and cramed the broken half back in. I noticed the case saver was loose and the the bolt has broken away from the JB weld. I've removed all the JB weld, except for what is pushed in the threads of the bolt and hole.

I dont think that a screw-out will bite it well enough to break the thing loose since it was so tight it sheared the bolt in the first place. I guess I could try and drill it out and just retap the hole. My concers are drilling through the case, are the bolts the same length for bottom and top and does the case seal off or does it just go straight through.

any more ideas / input?
